Senior Citizens make up a large portion of the Yorktown community, and Yorktown Vineyard Community Church reachs out to them by hosting 4 luncheons and other events for seniors each year. We hold luncheons with guest speakers in honor of Valentine's Day in February, Mother's Day in May, an Annual Summer Picnic in July, and the Fall Harvest Pot Luck Luncheon in October. We invite as many as 75 seniors to attend these special luncheons and open it to their senior guests (with rsvp!) as well. They are held during the week, and are offered at no charge. We have always received a positive response to these events, and want seniors to know they are most welcome at our church.
Christina Fox has been a part of the Yorktown Vineyard family since 2008. She is our church secretary and she loves her job! She has a heart for seniors and hosts all the luncheons and events for Seniors. Christina has been married to her husband, Michael, for close to 50 years, 41 of which they have lived in Yorktown. Christina worked as a special education teacher for 28 years, and then switched to insurance sales and service for another 10 years before she retired. She loves the Lord and wants to serve in as many ways as possible to bring people the Good News of Christ Jesus.
