OUR WORSHIP SERVICE
Our worship service begins at 10:30am with 10 to 15 minutes of singing (usually two songs). The congregation usually sings along with the band (Worship Team), but it is your choice to join in the singing, or if you are more comfortable, just relax and enjoy the sweet presence of God.
Our manner of worship may be different than you are used to. It is common to see people lifting their hands, clapping, praising vocally or expressing their love for God in their own unique way.
After the second worship song, a senior member will share the morning's announcements and there will be a brief break time to greet each other. Following the greetings we resume worship for another 15 to 25 minutes depending on the leading of the Spirit and congregation’s responses.
As worship draws to a close, the pastor will come to the pulpit and prepare to deliver the morning’s message. The children will be dismissed for Sunday school; infants and toddlers can play in our nursery room (see usher for location), children from the ages of 3 - 10 can participate in our Children's Church.
The message is approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length, and will end with the opportunity for individuals to receive prayer. Upon the closing of the service, you can join us downstairs for coffee, bagels and some social time (fellowship). It is our hope that you'll pick up your children from their classes, and join us in our fellowship, so we can get to know each other.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING OUR SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE
At Yorktown Vineyard, we recognize thatattending Church for the first time can often be intimidating. In order to makeyour experience a bit easier, here are a few things you will experience when you arrive:
As you enter the church, friendly people (ushers) will come to greet you with a warm smile and a hello. They will offer you our Sunday Morning bulletin, answer any questions you have and direct you to our sanctuary where the message will be given. This "bulletin" will supply you with today's message and any upcoming announcements.
You will notice we are dressed comfortably, in anything from "business casual" to "jeans and sneakers". AtYorktown Vineyard, we want you to come "as you are", we want this experience to be stress-free and as enjoyable as possible, so dress comfortably
Our services begin at 10:30am with prayer and worship (see our worship service). After worship, Pastor Earl or a special speaker will share the morning’s message. Pastor Earl’s messages are practical and relevant to daily life. They are designed to help us apply biblical truths to our everyday lives. The message is approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length, and will end with the opportunity for individuals to receive prayer.
Upon the closing of the service, we will meet downstairs for coffee, bagels and some social time (fellowship). It is our hope that you'll pick up your children from their classes, and join us in our fellowship, so we can get to know each other.
"We Look Forward To Meeting You On Sunday!"
Jane Rosa is a wonderful teacher and mother of a young and spirit filled daughter, Grace. Jane is currently serving as the Worship Team leader. She has a heart and passion for missions. When we hear the word “Missions”, we think of places over seas. Jane has not only the desires to share the good news in foreign lands but in her Yorktown home community and in all of the United States. Jane came to know the Lord over 20 years ago while teaching in California. The Lord took her lost prideful soul and created a faithful servant of His ways. To meet Jane is to feel her passion not only to share the good news but to see the Lord set free all who are in bondage of addictions. Jane also has a heart for the glory of God’s healing power for all who are afflicted.
